Stained siding
Photo to come
What it looks like
- Dark streaks running down the siding or brick below the gutter.
- Green or black growth on the wall under the roof edge.
What causes it
- Water running over the gutter carries dirt and roof grit down the face of the house.
- Sectional gutter is joined about every ten feet, and every joint is a leak waiting to happen.
- Corner miters that aren’t sealed properly leak down the wall.
What it leads to
- Overflowing gutters don’t just make a mess — they destroy fascia boards, rot siding, erode foundations, and cause mold problems you can’t see until it’s too late.
How we fix it
- Keep the debris out. The Valor Gutter Guard keeps leaves, needles and nests out of the gutter, so there’s nothing to clog.
- Seamless gutters — the only seams are at the corners and the outlets, where they can be properly sealed. See gutters.
Questions and answers
Why is my siding stained under the gutters?
Water is getting out of the gutter where it shouldn’t — over the front of a clogged gutter, or through a leaking joint or corner miter. Keeping the gutter clear and seamless keeps the water in the gutter.
